Storm Babet made landfall in the United Kingdom on the 18th of October and has since caused widespread damage in Ireland and the UK.
Furthermore, weather warnings and alerts were issued by the Met Office across the UK, including the most severe and rare, red alert, which was issued in parts of Scotland until Saturday midnight. The weather agency also warned, however, that new flood warnings are expected to be issued again during this week, in some of the worst affected areas.
It has been reported so far that at least four people lost their lives in the events, while at least 1,250 properties in England have been flooded and many others evacuated, including 500 in Nottinghamshire.
Several rivers burst their banks during the storm and some tens of thousands of households were left without power.
Ireland was also affected by the storm, with hundreds of properties reportedly damaged in County Cork.
