An electric scooter’s lithium-ion battery explosion resulted in a 5-alarm fire in the Bronx, NYC on Sunday.
The scooter was parked inside the rear part of a single-level grocery store when its battery exploded and caused a rapidly spreading 5-alarm fire.
It took 200 firefighters operating with 50 units to put the fire out.
At least 7 people were injured, out of which a civilian and an emergency service worker were seriously injured.
FDNY released a video of the moment when the fire started inside the store.
