Delhi’s Burari Collapse: Tragedy Strikes an Under-Construction Site

On the evening of January 27, 2025, tragedy struck Delhi's Burari area when a newly constructed four-story building collapsed, leaving several individuals trapped under the debris. The incident, which occurred in Kaushik Enclave around 6:30 PM, has claimed at least two lives, including two young girls aged 7 and 17. Emergency response teams, including Delhi Police, Fire Services, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), acted swiftly to rescue 12 individuals alive. Despite tireless overnight efforts, a few people are still feared trapped.

Preliminary reports suggest that the building was under construction when it collapsed, pointing to potential lapses in structural integrity or construction quality.
